An effective antioxidant scalp cream to help reduce excessive hair loss in androgenic alopecia (in both men and women) and in reducing an excessive rate of hair loss where the condition is of a temporary and reversible nature such as in hair loss caused by stress, illness, dietary, postpartum etc. The treatment is usually only required for a few weeks until the rate of hair loss reverts back to normal by the elimination of the causative factor. It is highly recommended that this cream is used with Tricotain shampoo and conditioner.
Menthol is an effective anti-oxidising agent for the dermal papilla. It prevents the papilla from changing prematurely from the anagen phase to the telogen phase by reducing and limiting the level of oxidation occurring in the papilla and the detrimental effects of free radicals. Apart from its antioxidant properties, research details menthol as being more penetrative into the follicle to help to repair damage and to stimulate dormant hair follicles to grow, but this is regarded as a secondary rather than a primary effect.
We use Vitamin E (Tocopherol) in the Menthol & Vitamin E scalp cream for its antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties. It aids the effectiveness of the menthol, and its soothing and calming effect helps reduce tissue inflammation resulting in a healthy balanced scalp, along with supporting the reduction of free radicals that cause the dermal papilla to break down and cause hair fall, breakage and loss.
Salicylic Acid occurs naturally in the bark of the willow tree, Salix alba. It is used in some skin creams at very low levels as an exfoliant, and at higher levels as a keratolytic treatment for several skin disorders such as seborrheic dermatitis and Psoriasis. Salicylic acid is gentle yet effective in the treatment of Psoriasis helping to soften and lift psoriatic plaques with no bleeding or soreness.
